Langre is a picturesque beachbreak that peels both left and right over sand. It stays fairly sheltered from strong southwest and moderate west winds, and the setting is quiet and easygoing, practically deserted once winter sets in.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from west through north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the best direction. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, and it does need a reasonable swell before it really comes alive.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to clean things up. Langre breaks on low and mid tide only, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect an uncrowded lineup, since it rarely gets busy and can feel all but empty through the winter months.
Access
There's a car park with free parking, though spaces can get tight at the height of summer. Beach facilities are limited, and there's camping nearby.
