Overview
Larache is a tubing left that breaks along the harbour jetty on the north side of town, peeling over a mix of uneven reef and sand towards the Lixus ruins and the Loukkos rivermouth. The river pushes a large flow that carries pollutants from inland farms, so water quality is worth keeping in mind here.
When It Works
Swell reaches the spot from west through north (W-N), and a west (W) swell is the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
An east (E) wind blows offshore here. This is very much a mid-tide wave, so time your session around mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. Expect noticeable current even in that window.
Local Tips
The left is best suited to intermediate surfers.
