Le Pin Sec surf guide

Le Pin Sec is located just north of Hourtin, nestled alongside a peaceful stretch of the Forêt du Flamand. This surf spot offers about 10 km of beach with plenty of peaks to choose from. It's a quieter alternative for surfers looking to escape the crowds, and there's a nice campsite nearby for those wanting to extend their stay.

The surf here is mainly good for intermediates. The best swells usually come from the Northwest, but SouthWest swells can also work. You can expect manageable wave sizes starting from around 1 ft (0.3 m), which can break over sandy bottoms. Both left and right waves can be found, giving you some options to pick from. The wind is generally more favorable from the east, which helps keep the sessions enjoyable, and you can surf during low, mid, or high tide.

This spot is quite beginner-friendly, though you should watch out for some rips. It's a great place to improve your skills while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of the area.
