Overview
Lerici - La Venere is a clean, slow right-hand point that peels over sand on the northern side of the bay. It's the spot to check when Levanto and the rest of Tuscany are blown out, and the mellow, forgiving wall makes it a friendly place to surf.
When It Works
The point draws swell from south through southwest, with southwest (SW) the best direction. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The soft, slow right is well suited to beginners finding their feet. It can get crowded when it's on, so expect company in the lineup on the better days.
Access
You'll find it a few kilometres south of La Spezia along Highway A10, with easy access to the line-up from the north jetty. Parking is a mix of free, metered, and roadside spots, and the water quality is decent.
