Overview
Lighthouse is a surprisingly good right-hander that breaks over live coral at the entrance to Suva Harbour. Don't mix it up with the other Lighthouse near Mini Cloudbreak; this one sits where the harbour meets open water.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south swell the best match. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and consistency is middling, so it pays to be patient. When the swell lines up, though, it delivers a rideable right often enough to be worth the trip.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to clean up the face. The reef works through the full tide range, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
Access
Getting out here means a short boat ride, just a few minutes from the Suva yacht club. Keep in mind the harbour carries plenty of maritime traffic and sits right beside the city, so there's a chance of some pollution in the water.
