Overview
Lohi's is a long left-hand reef break in the Maldives that kept its old Lohifushi name even after the island became the Huduranfushi resort. It built its reputation hosting five WQS events, the Deep Blue Open, from 2001 to 2005. The wave runs longer than nearby Pasta, though it isn't quite as perfect. The outside section holds the monsoon wind better, while the inside can turn into a dramatic freight train.
When It Works
Lohi's is a left that peels over a dead coral reef, drawing swell from southeast to south with south the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, a wide window that keeps waves on offer across most swells. It's a consistent spot, so there's a reliable supply when the swell is running.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind to groom the face. It can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
Access
Surfing here is for resort guests only, so you'll need to be staying on the island to paddle out. Parking is restricted.
