Overview
M'Vassa is a quality reefbreak tucked along a beautiful, pristine stretch of coast, where turtles are a common sight gracing the lineup. The waves peel both left and right over an uneven reef, and when everything lines up the place genuinely fires.
When It Works
It comes alive on a big southwest swell, when the quality reef really turns on. The break draws swell from south through west, with southwest (SW) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so you want a decent, well-directed pulse to get it going.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean things up and let the reef show its shape. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, who will get the most out of the lefts and rights on offer.
Access
Getting out here is quite difficult, so plan the trip carefully before making the effort.
