Malik's is a long left-hand reef break at Hirilandhoo, in the Maldives. It runs fast and can throw high-quality barrels over a dead coral reef when everything lines up.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south to southwest, with southwest the best match. It's usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. The wave can be inconsistent, so it pays to wait for the right swell to fill in.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
