Overview
Manafiafy is a reef break with both lefts and rights peeling over an uneven reef, just north of Lokaro. It sits along a stretch of coast near Sainte-Luce dotted with rocky islets, where a mix of reef and beach options is on offer.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), with a southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and stays moderately consistent, coming through often enough to be worth checking without being a sure thing.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This break suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet. Bear in mind that the wider Madagascar coast carries a real big-fish risk, so it pays to stay shark-aware in the water.
