Marinella is one of Anglet's sand-bottomed beach breaks, with peaks that flank the jetties and break both left and right. Like all the Anglet beaches, it can be magic one day and junky the next, depending on how the sand has settled and the wind. When it lines up, those peaks offer steep shoulders and the odd pit.
When It Works
Marinella is a consistent break that draws swell from west to north (W-N), with northwest the optimal direction. A medium west-northwest swell does the job. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind; any easterly will do. The peaks hold up right through the tide, across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a very busy lineup, with mega crowds on summer and autumn weekends thanks to the proximity to the Youth Hostel and Fontaine Laborde camping.

You'll find a car park with free parking plus roadside parking. Facilities cover restrooms, showers, camping, a lifeguard, a surf school, and a surf shop.
