Overview
Marsalforn breaks over scattered reefs just east of the harbour, throwing up both lefts and rights across uneven rock.
When It Works
The reefs need swell from the northwest to northeast to fire, and northeast (NE) is the direction that lines them up best. It is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is the catch here, as the setup can be inconsistent and only switches on with the right swell. In bigger swells it gets very difficult to negotiate, and the reef is sharp, so pick your days carefully.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay quiet when it is working.
