Moem Point is a mellow right-hand reefbreak tucked into a quiet, tranquil bay. The wave peels over dead coral, giving it a laid-back point-style feel rather than anything heavy or fast.
When It Works
The point draws swell from northwest through northeast (NW-NE), with north (N) swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent working range once a swell shows up. Just don't count on it too often, as it tends to be somewhat inconsistent and can go flat between pulses.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind to clean things up. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup stays quiet when it's on, so you won't be jostling for waves.
Access
Heading east, take the Moem Barracks turn-off and check the point from there.
