Overview
Muiñelos is a northwest-facing beachbreak that breaks over sand, tucked into a picturesque setting backed by pine forest. It serves up a good-quality wave peeling both left and right, and the lefthander is the standout.
When It Works
Muiñelos draws swell from northwest through north (NW-N), with northwest (NW) the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and stays fairly consistent, so there are usually rideable days when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind to clean up the peaks. The bank works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call, while the lefthander comes into its own at low tide.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate wave. Expect a busier lineup on weekends, when the spot can get crowded.
Access
Parking is no problem, with free parking on hand. Beach facilities are limited, and you'll share the sand with some beachgoers in summer.
