Overview
Nahlap is a fun right-hand reefbreak that peels over dead coral, tucked just off the Nahlap Island resort.
When It Works
It draws swell from the east through south (E-S), with southeast (SE) swell the best match. The break comes alive on southeast groundswell between July and October, when clean three-to-four-foot faces roll through under light or no wind. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to keep the face clean. The reef can work through most of the tide, from low to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a mellow, forgiving right-hander, which makes it a great place for beginners to find their feet on a reef break.
