Overview
Nahpali is a long, sectiony right-hand reef pass that peels over dead coral. It almost always has waves, so there is usually something to ride here even when the swell is modest. The water is rippy and sharky, so keep your wits about you.
When It Works
This right-hander draws swell from north to east, with a north swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and is moderately consistent, so you can count on rideable days showing up across a season rather than only on rare pulses.
Wind and Tide
The pass is usually blown out, so it really wants a clean southwest offshore wind to hold its shape. It breaks through low, mid, and high tide, but a rising tide is the better call.
Local Tips
Nahpali is a good fit for intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet when it is on.
Access
Reaching the pass means a 40-minute boat ride, so treat a session here as a planned mission rather than a quick dawn check.
