Naufragados is a hollow beach break over sand that can throw a real barrel, though it has a tendency to close out. Even on the days it doesn't quite deliver, the scenery alone can make the trip worthwhile.
When It Works
The break draws swell from east to south (E-S), with southeast (SE) the best match, and it peels both left and right. It's usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to time your visit for when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave is approachable enough for beginners, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet.
Access
Reaching Naufragados takes effort: it's a long hike or a hired boat to get to the break. There are no facilities, so pack all the supplies you'll need, and parking is restricted.
