Ocean Reef Park Surf Forecast Guide

Ocean Reef Park is the only consistent surf spot on Singer Island, a green oasis tucked among the condos that makes for a genuinely pleasant place to paddle out. Short, fast lefts peel off two coral outcroppings, with the occasional right mixing in. It won't hold much size, but in the waist-to-overhead range it can be a blast. Keep an eye out for a few rocks in the lineup.

When It Works

The spot draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast (N-ENE-SE), with northeast (NE) swell the best match. It works on both wind and groundswells and is often the best option around on a true north swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, though it tends to close out once the surf pushes past overhead. Consistency is moderate, with the more reliable windows arriving through spring, autumn, and winter.

Wind and Tide

Look for west (W) offshore wind. It blows out easily, so surf early in the morning when a north swell is running. The reef works through low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call, and the windswell peaks carry more punch toward low tide.

Local Tips

This is an intermediate shortboard wave. Expect a fairly quiet lineup that can feel a little reserved.

Access

Getting in is easy, and you'll find restrooms, showers, a lifeguard, and a surf shop on hand. There's a car park with free parking.
