Overview
Oualidia is a sand-bottomed beach break on the Moroccan coast, throwing up both lefts and rights. The lagoon is the gentle side of the place: a surfcamp has been teaching local kids on its easy waves since 1991. The open beach is a different story and is often blown out or out of control, while Les Tomates is the peak that rewards more experienced surfers.
When It Works
The beach picks up swell from southwest to north, so there's a wide window of directions that can switch it on. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast offshore wind to clean things up. Oualidia can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
