Overview
Panaitan Bombie is a multi-peak, rippable right-hander that breaks on the extensive outside reef beyond the bay. It peels over live coral and ranks among the easier waves on the island.
When It Works
It comes into its own when the swell is small, and it holds up as a consistent option. Swell reaches the reef from southeast through south to west, with southwest the optimal direction. The wave is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft.
Wind and Tide
Offshore wind comes from the north, but that's a rare direction here, so the bombie often leans on early or late glass to be at its best. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet. Keep an eye out for currents and sea life.
