Overview
Paora Road is a reef that serves up both lefts and rights over an uneven bottom, on a farm-backed stretch of coast. It's one of the better-known breaks in an area scattered with reefs, alongside Stent Road and Weld Road.
When It Works
The reef pulls in swell from southwest to north, and it has the size to hold up when the swell gets big.
Wind and Tide
A southeast offshore wind grooms it best. It comes alive from mid to high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
Reaching the water means following small tracks through the farms down to the coast. Always ask permission before crossing someone's property, and close every farm gate behind you.
