Overview
Pasta Point is a left-hand reef break that peels over dead coral in the Maldives. It's very much a resort wave, reserved for the maximum of 30 surfing guests booked into the Chaaya Dhonveli Resort. The ride starts and finishes fast, with an edgy, lip-bashing wall running through the middle.
When It Works
Very consistent, Pasta Point pulls in swell from southeast to south, with south swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, so there's a wide working window before it gets too small or too big.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind, though the wave holds together across a workable wind window running from the northeast through to the southeast. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave sits nicely in reach of intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
