Pearlers is a coral reef peak tucked in behind Masokut, breaking both left and right. It sits among the mellower breaks that boat captains pick out when the conditions suit, alongside options like Taileleo, a fun south-facing mal slide, and Losmen Right around the backside near the Muara harbour.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southeast through south, and southeast is the direction that lines it up best. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there is plenty of room between a small, playful day and something with real push behind it. Pearlers can be inconsistent at times, but it delivers often enough to be worth keeping on the list when the swell angle lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northwest offshore wind to clean things up. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers who are comfortable over live coral. The lineup stays fairly quiet, so you will usually have space to pick your peak.
