Overview
Playa de Levante is Valencia's main city beach, running north of the port. It's a beachbreak over sand with both lefts and rights, and while the surf is nothing special, the easy city location keeps it popular with Valencia locals.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from northeast to east, with northeast swell the best match. Its swell window is small to begin with, and the Balearic Islands narrow it further, so clean swell doesn't arrive often. When it does, the spot works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind. The beach can work through the whole tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Water quality can be poor after rains, so it's worth keeping an eye on that. Expect company in the water when it's working, since the beach is a favorite with city locals.
Access
There's a car park with free parking, plus paid and roadside parking options nearby.
