Overview
Playa de los Genoveses is a small beachbreak that peels both left and right over sand, tucked into a stretch of beautiful coastline. The water quality is good, and the beach picks up plenty of swell for its setting.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northeast through southeast (NE-SE), with east swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so it favours small, playful days over anything sizeable. With a decent swell window, waves show up fairly often here.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to clean things up. The beach can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup is usually crowd free, so you can spread out and pick your peak. If it goes flat, San Jose sits just to the north and Cabo de Gata to the south, and Almeria occasionally has a wave in town.
