Overview
Playa del Puerco is a long, open stretch of sand between La Barrosa and Roche, with the main peak sitting roughly midway between the two. The wave has a lot in common with Roche: fast, tubular rides over a sand bottom, peeling both left and right, though close-outs are common at lower tides. If nearby breaks are busy, this beach makes a good escape.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through northwest, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, giving it a wide usable range for a beachbreak.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) wind, which blows offshore here, and the cliffs behind the beach offer some protection when that easterly picks up strength. Surf it on low or mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call; the lower the tide, the more the waves tend to close out.

This is a beginner-friendly wave in a relaxed setting. The lineup is rarely crowded, the water is clean, and there are no hassles, so it suits anyone looking for space to catch waves at their own pace.
Access
Coming from Sancti Petri, take a right turn down a dirt track just before you reach Urb Roche, and check the waves from the clifftop before heading down. Parking is free.
