Overview
Playero de Miramar is a reef break that peels both left and right over an uneven reef. A rocky island sits in the lineup and splits incoming north swells, and the lefts in particular offer a fun wall to blast turns, throw the odd air, or just cruise into deeper water. Compared with nearby El Barco, it sees less swell, smaller size, less consistency, and thinner crowds.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N) and lines up best on a northwest (NW) swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and consistency is moderate, so you'll find rideable windows without it firing every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call, with the peaks sharpening as the water pushes in.
