Overview
Pollock Beach is a sand-bottomed beach break with both lefts and rights. It's where The Pipe breaks in all small swells, so it really comes into its own when there isn't much size around.
When It Works
The break draws swell from east through south to southwest and is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. When there's more size on offer, the Clubhouse end will handle it, though it's probably better elsewhere on the bigger days.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest offshore wind. It can also stay rideable in light onshores from the east, which keeps the workable wind window fairly forgiving. Pollock breaks through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an approachable, beginner-friendly beach break. Just to the south, Flat Rocks can hold some hollow high-tide rights that the local bodyboarders tend to be all over.
