Overview
Puerto Eten centres on a long, busted-up pier, with mushy beachbreak stretching north and a few more interesting peaks anchored to the rocks just south of it. The standout wave, though, is the left point in the next bay, below the Punta La Farola lighthouse, where a swell wraps in and runs for a few hundred metres.
When It Works
This is a left-hand point that breaks over uneven reef and sand. It draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest (S-WSW-NW), but a southwest swell is the best match, wrapping onto the rocks and walling up cleanly along the point. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and is moderately consistent. In summer swells, look for rights back toward the pier as well.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The point suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it works.
