Pulau Babi, also known as Pig Island, is a right-hand reef break that sits wide open to swell. When it is pumping it serves up big drops into banking, full-rail turns, with a shorter, hollower right peeling into the beach further inside. It breaks over live coral.
When It Works
This is a consistent break that draws swell from south through west, with southwest swell the best match. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, so it holds everything from smaller days up to serious size.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind. The reef works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet even when it is working.
