Overview
Quepos Bombie is a huge, slab-like offshore bombie sitting south of the jetty, way out off the point. It breaks over uneven reef and can run both left and right, but it's only ridden for short spells and is very inconsistent and exposed to wind, which leaves it as a rare tow-in option.
When It Works
It draws swell from south through southwest (S-SW), with south (S) swell the best match. The break is usable from 1.8 m / 6 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, and given how inconsistent it is, the good windows are few and far between.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind. It works on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-only wave, and you can expect a quiet lineup on the rare days it comes to life. Jet skis are available to rent in town, often used to access the Boca Damas waves.
Access
Parking nearby is restricted.
