Overview
Ras Gibeisa is a left-hand pointbreak that peels over a mix of uneven reef and sand. It's a genuine swell-puller, and when it fills in you can score a great left down the point. On smaller days it mellows into a perfect longboard wave.
When It Works
The point draws swell from west through north, with northwest the optimal direction. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, so it doesn't take much size to switch on, and the smaller end is where those easygoing longboard sessions come alive.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind to clean it up. The point works through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers best.
Access
Getting in isn't guaranteed here, as the coastguard can deny access, so be ready to be turned back.
