Overview
Roxys is a right-hand reef break that peels over live coral in a bay backed by jungle. The reef sits deep and flat, so the wave stays forgiving without going soft, and an easy paddling channel shuttles you straight back to the peak. A sizeable village lines the bay, a handful of locals have started surfing here, and there's a separate left off the southern headland.
When It Works
Roxys draws swell from southwest through west, with west swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. On smaller days it's playful and fun with whackable walls up to head high, and once it pushes overhead it turns into proper open barrels from take-off. Shifting outside wedges spread the pack across the peak, though the ride is short as the wall walls up through a bumpy inside section and finishes on the rocks skirting the jungle.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast offshore wind, though the reef stays surfable even in light onshore. It handles low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call and mid tide best of all.
Local Tips
Roxys suits intermediate surfers. Expect a handful of locals in the water when it's on, and the shifting outside wedges tend to split everyone across the peak.
