Overview
San Marco, Ciminiera is a fast, long left that peels down the east side of the San Marco cape, breaking over a mix of sand and uneven reef. Exposed to all southern swells, it walls up quickly and throws some tube sections on the inside when it lines up.
When It Works
The break draws swell from east through south to southwest, with southeast (SE) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so you want a bit of size running before it comes to life. As a reef-and-sand left, it holds a fast wall through those inside sections.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. The spot even holds it strong, and that same southeast direction doubles as its best swell angle. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Watch for strong currents, and since it's a solo spot, bring a friend. If you want more options, there are further reefs to surf on the west side of the cape.
Access
From Sciacca, turn right toward Contrada Foggia at the crossroad, then follow the signs to San Marco. You'll find free roadside parking when you arrive.
