Seca is a sand-bottomed beach break sitting about halfway down the Massambada Restinga, an endless stretch of coast dotted with countless potential peaks. It throws up both lefts and rights, so there is room to move around and find the bank that is working on the day.
When It Works
Seca draws swell from east through south to southwest, with southeast the direction that lines it up best. Mid-size swells from the east-to-south window tend to bring out the better peaks along this stretch. It is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, giving it plenty of range across small and solid days. Consistency is moderate, so it will not be firing every session, but the windows are there when the swell cooperates.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind to clean it up. The bank works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Seca suits beginners, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it is on. Even so, the Restinga is loaded with peaks, so scoring a bank to yourself is realistic even on a weekend if you are willing to check enough access points.
Access
There are no facilities here, so come self-sufficient. Parking is easy enough, with a car park offering free parking alongside roadside spots.
