Sharpleys Point is a right-hand point break that peels over a mix of uneven reef and sand. It sits on the far side of the headland from Mpame Beach, tucked between the Mpame and Mcwasa rivermouths.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south swell the best match. It pulls in plenty of swell and can run for a good distance when south and southwest swells wrap around the point. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, and it's moderately consistent, so you'll find worthwhile windows when the swell lines up rather than a wave that fires every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind. The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate wave, and the lineup stays fairly quiet even when it's on.
