Silabu surf guide

Silabu is located on the northern half of Pulau Pagai Utara (North Pagai Island). It's not the most famous surf spot in the area, but it does have some interesting options for surfers looking to explore. The vibe here is pretty laid-back, and while it’s not crowded like some other spots, it has its own charm and appeal, especially for those in search of a quieter session.

This spot offers a left-hander that works best with moderate south-west swells, hitting around head high. It can handle swells of about 4 ft. (1.2 m) and is known to be quite punchy. The wave breaks over live coral, providing a solid ride but don't expect it to be super long or hollow. It’s a good choice for intermediate surfers, as the conditions can vary throughout the tide, working well on low, mid, and high tides. The best wind for this spot is from the east, which sets up the waves nicely.

While the surf may not always be epic, Silabu does provide a decent escape from busier spots like Maccas. It can handle bigger swells too, so if you're keen on catching some waves without the hassle of crowds, this could be a good option. Just remember to be mindful of the reef while you’re out there, and enjoy the unique experience that Silabu has to offer.
