Silabu is a punchy left-hander that wraps around a live coral fringe off the tip of Silabusabeu island. It is not especially long or hollow, but there is enough push in it to keep things fun.
When It Works
The wave pulls swell from south through west (S-W), with southwest (SW) the standout direction, and it starts to wrap in on moderate southwest swells. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and keeps its shape as bigger swells fill in.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind. Silabu breaks through all tides, though a rising tide is generally the better call, and it also holds up well enough in a south wind.
Local Tips
Silabu suits intermediate surfers, and it makes a handy escape when the Macaronis lineup gets crowded and the swell is at least head-high.
