Overview
South West Sea is a beachbreak that peels both left and right over sand, named for the wreck of a fishing vessel that ran aground here in the mid-1970s. The wave itself is modest, but it earns its keep through sheer reliability, breaking far more often than not.
When It Works
It draws swell from the southwest through west, with southwest the best match. The bank is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, holding a wide window of sizes. Consistency is the real draw, giving you a dependable option when other spots go flat.
Wind and Tide
Look for east offshore wind to clean up the faces. The beachbreak works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It's a beginner-friendly wave, well suited to surfers still finding their feet.
Access
There's camping nearby if you want to stay close to the break and wait for a session.
