Overview
Spanish Point - Inside Point is a short, fun reef break that peels both left and right over a rock ledge. It has a playful, funpark feel, and it holds up better in the wind than many spots nearby.
When It Works
The Inside only wakes up when there's real size on the coast, so it needs a larger swell to break. It draws swell from the southwest through northwest (SW-NW), with a west swell the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind, though this one copes with wind better than most. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It's an approachable wave that suits beginners, and it draws a crowd, so expect a busy lineup when it's on.
Access
Park at the north end of the beach, where you'll find a car park with free parking. Camping is available nearby.
