Tafadna is a right-hand pointbreak tucked into a remote fishing port, where the wave fans out in the lee of a large cape. Beyond the point, beach peaks run all the way down to the rivermouth and past it, so there is more than one option when you get here. The bottom is a mix of uneven reef and sand.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest to north (SW-N), which gives it a wide window to pick up energy. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, holding size well into the bigger end of that range.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind to clean up the point. Mid tide is the sweet part of the tidal cycle here, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, so it is a solid step up from beginner beach days without demanding advanced experience.
Access
Tafadna sits around 80 km south of Essaouira, out at Tafelney Cape. The road in is rough, but the payoff is a genuinely remote setup with nothing around and no pollution worries.
