Taíba surf guide

Taíba is a laid-back surf spot located in Brazil that attracts surfers looking for good waves without the heavy crowds. It's a popular alternative to the nearby Paracuru beach, making it a great option if you're seeking some space in the water. The vibe here is pretty chill, and you'll find a mix of locals and travelers enjoying the surf and sun.

The best conditions for surfing at Taíba generally happen with northeast (NE) swells. It also handles swells coming from the northwest (NW) and east (E). The waves typically break over sand, making it a beach break that works well for beginners. You can expect waves from around 1ft (0.3m) upward, and when the tide is pushing during mid-tidal phases, you can catch some decent rides, both left and right. If the wind is coming from the southwest (SW), you’ll find the best setups. For those starting out in surfing, Taíba provides a friendly environment where you can get comfortable on the board.

Just a heads-up, if you're up for a little adventure, check out the right off the rocks known as Pesqueira. It can produce some good waves during bigger northeast swells and can offer longer rides. Also, if you wander over to the windward side of the headland at Morro do Chapeu, there's more rocky beachbreak to explore. It's not as crowded, and you might just find some fun waves to ride.
