Overview
Tiger Reef sits on the edge of town, breaking in front of the rivermouth and the Tiger Reef Bar. It's a scattered set of offshore peaks that hold little quality, though the beach break still serves up both lefts and rights over a patchy mix of uneven reef and sand.
When It Works
The break draws swell from south through west, with a southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is on the hit-and-miss side, so it pays to catch it when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind. Tiger Reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay quiet.
