Overview
Udo Shrine is a good-looking right-hand peak breaking over uneven reef. When it lines up, it's one of those setups that draws everyone in, and the lineup shows it.
When It Works
The peak feeds on swell from northeast through east, with northeast the direction that switches it on properly. It's usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Consistency is the catch: it can go quiet for stretches, so it pays to watch for the windows when the swell direction and size come together.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind to clean it up. The reef works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one is for expert surfers. The uneven reef and the quality of the right make it a serious wave, and it gets very busy whenever it's on, so expect a packed lineup on the good days.
Access
Parking is free at the roadside, and from there it's a bit of a walk down to the break.
