Overview
Wembury is a long, walling left point that breaks off Blackstone Rocks, peeling over a mix of rock ledge and sand. When it's on, the wave holds its shape down the line for a proper long ride.
When It Works
Wembury draws swell from south through southwest, with southwest (SW) the direction that lines it up best. It's not a spot that flickers to life on the smallest pulses, though, it needs a solid swell to get going. The working size runs from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent window once the swell has some weight behind it.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean up the face. One of Wembury's strengths is that it stays workable through the tide across low, mid, and high water, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
There's a car park to leave the car, with toilets on site. Down at the beach you'll find a cafe and shop if you need a coffee or to grab something after your session.
