Werri Beach Surf Forecast Guide

Werri Beach is a consistent beachbreak that turns on across a wide range of swells, backed up by a challenging right that runs off the southern point. Most of the action happens over sand, and the peaks reshuffle enough to keep things interesting through the year.

When It Works

The beach draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with an east (E) swell the best match for lining up the peaks. Some of the cleanest waves are the A-frames at the northern end, which fire when a northeast swell teams up with northeast winds. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, and its consistency means there's usually something to ride when a swell is running.

Wind and Tide

Look for a west (W) offshore wind to groom the faces. The bank works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Local Tips

The main beachbreaks are approachable enough for beginners, offering both lefts and rights. The southern point is a different story: a right that barrels hard over shallow rocks in northeast to east swells, and strictly an experienced-surfers-only wave. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it works, and busier still through summer once the caravan parks fill up.

Access

You'll find restrooms, showers, camping, and lifeguard cover on hand. Parking is easy, with a car park offering free spaces alongside paid and roadside options.
