Overview
Yo-yo's - The Wedge sits in Sekongkang Bay, a genuine swell magnet, where a couple of exposed slabs known as Yo Yo's take their name from the way swell refracts off the cliffs. The Wedge lives up to that idea: smaller swells bounce off the towering cliffs and jack up into a steep but manageable drop, feeding a short, punchy right that ends abruptly.
When It Works
This is a right-hander breaking over uneven reef. It draws swell from south through west, and southwest (SW) is the direction that bends waves in cleanest off the cliffs. The break works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and it stays consistent, so there are usually waves to find when swell is in the water.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The steep takeoff and quick, punchy wall make this one a fit for intermediate surfers. Expect a busy lineup when it's firing.
