Overview
21st Street is a sandy beachbreak with more punch than the other breaks nearby. The long lefts peel down parallel to the beach on north-northeast swells, and the bank serves up both lefts and rights.
When It Works
The break draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast, with northeast (NE) swell the best match. Those long, powerful lefts really come alive when a north-northeast swell is running. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
The spot is exposed to the wind, so a clean west (W) offshore makes a real difference. It works best at low to mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
