Air Equator Lefts is a left-hand reef that breaks over dead coral. It was spotted from the air by Air Equator pilot Andy Burr, who picked out the unridden Meedhoo lefts on a flyover. From above it looks like a fast, full-on barrel.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast (SW-SE), with southwest (SW) the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so you want a solid pulse in that window before making the trip.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

This is an expert-level wave, so it suits confident surfers comfortable on a fast reef break.

Reaching it is a commitment: it's a 2h+ dhoni ride out just to check the lineup.
