Overview
Anse aux Poules Bleues is a fun, shallow left that can run long when it's on, peeling over uneven reef just along from Anse à la Mouche.
When It Works
This is a rare one. It only wakes up on a very big swell, breaking maybe three or so days in a good year and sitting inconsistent the rest of the time. It draws swell from the southwest through southeast, with southwest swell the best match. The reef is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast offshore wind, the direction the local trades tend to blow. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers. On the handful of days it breaks it pulls in an instant crowd, so expect a busy lineup when it's firing.
