Arenal de Moris is a long, open beach break in a quiet, rural setting, with good, shifty peaks scattered along the sand. Both lefts and rights are on offer, and it makes a friendly playground for intermediate surfers.
When It Works
The peaks break over sand and draw swell from west through north, with northwest swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. The beach is quite consistent, so it picks up swell reliably and rarely sits flat when there is energy about.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south offshore wind to clean up the peaks. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves suit intermediate surfers well. Because it catches swell so consistently, the lineup can get busy on weekends, so expect more company then.
Access
Free parking makes it an easy spot to reach. Summer facilities include a lifeguard and showers, and there is camping nearby.
